Nutrition and Diet Services was founded in 1980 by Chedwah Stein, a dietitian and former manager of the Nutrition section of the Oregon State Health Division.
She established NDS to meet the needs of an increasingly health conscious public demanding current, reliable nutrition information.
Early on Chedwah realized the potential of computer technology in dietetics and had a proprietary program created to analyze diets and food products, which NDS has continued to update to take advantage of advancing technology.
Linda Faus, a long-time employee, took over the business in 2014.
NDS's staff of professional chefs and home economists continues Chedwah's vision, responding to consumer demands and new government regulations with quality customer service, accurate analysis, and a deep reserve of knowledge about government regulations, food and the food industry.
